Once upon a time, the inhabitants of the continent Enaria were in a bitter feud. The two courts are ancient enemies, feuding since the beginning of time. The inhabitants of the two courts are never supposed to fall in love, and can be punished by death or banishment. These two courts were known as Summer and Winter Courts. Two thousand years ago the two courts were able to put aside their differences to defeat a common enemy. They were able to think of the greater good of Enaria. Afterwards, the Summer and Winter courts lived in peace with each other causing both courts to thrive from trade. To strengthen their alliance royal rulers of the two courts proposed an agreement through their children. Prince Kailen of the Winter Court, the only legitimate son of the king and queen in centuries (but not the last) and Princess Aurelia of the Summer Court were to be married when the princess turned twenty-one years old.
But twenty years ago, King Kailaen I and Queen Tahlia of the Winter Court went back on her word, thinking that she should be the sole ruler of Enaria (and that her blood is better than those of the Summer Court). She had her royal guards kidnap Princess Aurelia and switch her with a sickly human child from Victorian London. Afterwards, another bitter war broke out between the two courts of Enaria. King Claudius and his wife, Queen Aine wished to recover daughter from the human world, but there was no way they could locate her. Queen Tahlia placed a magical necklace on the child, blocking all of her magical abilities, making her seem like a normal human.
The relaxed life of a young upper class girl changes in an instant as a fairy prince enters her life. Queen Tahlia entrusted her son, Kailen to hunt down the lost fairy princess and kill her, but she never expected Kailen to become a traitor. For punishment against his people, the queen placed a curse on her son causing him to injure or kill whoever he touches. Over time, the winter prince fell in love with the summer princess’ benevolent attitude; she treated him as an actually person, as an equal while others treated him as a ruler or as lower class in the case of his family. Aspen joined the Summer Court in the war against his people, hoping to oust his mother as queen and and take what is rightfully his. The war between the two courts has been building up for centuries, and this is when it will be settled.
